Friends in Need is a way for people to meet online and in their local area.  It's free to join and a great way to share support ...

Friends in Need

Kensington and Chelsea Mind Friends in Need is a peer to peer social support and wellbeing community for people affected by depression and other mental health problems.

The service is available to:

  • Individuals who are over 18
  • and who have experienced depression or other mental health problems
  • who live, or are registered with a GP in the Kensington and Chelsea, Queens Park, Paddington catchment area
  • and whose mental health care is being looked after by primary care general practice services

The service is funded by West London Clinical Commissioning Group.

Friends in Need is underpinned by the Five Ways to Wellbeing. These are a set of evidence based actions which promote people's wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.

I wasn't sure about joining an online community at first but I must say I'm really pleased I did because there appears to be some really lovely, caring people here with loads of time to chat and give you a boost. I find talking online really helpful, especially when you can't deal with people face to face
