Friends in Need

Peer to peer support for people experiencing depression.

Good friends who understand depression can be a life line.  Created and pioneered by Depression Alliance, Friends in Need is a way for people affected by depression to meet online and in the local area.  It's free to join and a great way to share support.

Whether you are affected by depression or you are supporting someone with depression, Friends in Need is here to help you:

  • Maintain recovery
  • Meet new people
  • Challenge yourself
  • Share your experiences
  • Make a difference

You can connect with us online and offline.  Friends in Need online is supported by our national charity, Mind.org.  Locally, Friends in Need runs over 40 social meet ups a month in the Kensington and Chelsea and Queens Park, Paddington area, where people can meet to socialise, learn new skills and gain support from their peers.

I wasn't sure about joining an online community at first but I must say I'm really pleased  I did because there appears to be some really lovely, caring people here with loads of time to chat and give you a boost.  I find talking online really helpful, espcially when you can't deal with people face to face

I have never spoken openly about how things are inside for me but by opening up and sharing I felt that a massive burden had been lifted."  Friends in Need"  takes away that worry that you don't belong.  Here you always do.
